CERTIFICATION PROCESS
  • Attend The Stork Stops Here Workshop
  • Read all learning materials
  • Provide proof of infant/child CPR/FA
  • Pass written test with 85% or better
  • Write essay on "The Benefit of Breastfeeding
  • Submit two (2) letters of recommendation from client's and professionals (i.e., postpartum doula, lactation consultant, labor doulas, childbirth educator or other health care professional) OR two (2) letters from friends.
  • TB clearance (proof required)
  • Create and maintain a resource manual with information on local support. Manual should include: Certified Lactation Consultaqnts`s, Breast Pump Rental Locations, Support Group Information, Mental Health Providers that specialize in postpartum disorders, home health agencies, scientifically supported articles on topics such as breastfeeding, circumcision, formula feeding, etc.
  • Obtain Professional Liability Insurance
  • Provide postpartum care for 3 clients and have them complete postpartum care worker evaluations.

REFUND POLICY
A 90% refund will be granted
if written notice stating inability to attend is received at least seven (7) days prior to training workshop.

A 50% refund will be granted
if written notice stating inability to attend is received 4-6 days prior to training workshop.

No refund is available if notice is received within three (3) days of the training workshop.

CERTIFICATION NOTES
In the event a candidate meet certification requirements and fails the certification process,
the candidate has up to one (1) year to complete the failed portion of the certification requirements. There will be no additional fees.

Candidates have two (2) years to complete requirements for certification.
